The community function areas include a full-size gymnasium that is equipped with a full-size volleyball court, spectator seating on both sides of the gymnasium, and an elevated stage at the end. This elevated stage and area within the gymnasium can be utilized for graduation ceremonies, plays, move nights, weddings, or any large-scale community function. The back of the stage has an overhead glass sectional door which opens to an outdoor stage coordinating the outdoor activities of the adjacent Peralta Community Park with the indoor activities of the Community Center. Located off the gymnasium you can find (2) exercise rooms or dance studios along with a large and open weight room. Working in conjunction with the gymnasium you will find a pre-function lobby space which shall help alleviate the pedestrian traffic in and out of the gymnasium during large events. Supporting the pre-function space, you will find a fully equipped commercial kitchen that can be used as concession for events or as a ghost kitchen for members of the community.
Located off the pre-function space you will find an administration wing that can host facility staff or community program directors.
Integrated into the project is a 3,500sf Youth Center. Conceptually modeled after atypical “Boy’s and Girl’s” type club, this space can occupy the time of community youth and serve as home base for after hour events, weekend activities, after school programs and summer camps.
Finally, you will notice a separated 2,500sf Senior Center. This area provides break-out spaces for all sorts of crafts and activities including a large Living area and residential style Kitchen for gathering and sharing time with good friends and family. All these spaces are integrated perfectly into the outdoor environment with numerous and specifically designed outdoor breakout spaces intended to serve the community function in which they adjoin. Fundamentally designed with the park to the North, this community center will be the flagship community gathering space not only for Peralta, but the surrounding areas of Valencia County. Finally, you will notice a separated 2,500sf Senior Center.
