After designing the Ohkay Owingeh Community School in 2015, Buffalo Design was given the opportunity to design a campus extension that consists of a new multipurpose building, exterior play areas, and a exterior basketball court. Being able to work on multiple projects for the same client is always a rewarding experience. We are honored to have the opportunity to watch this community grow.
Buffalo Design Architects had the privilege of designing the Ohkay Owingeh Community School, an educational space that was not just a building, but a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that inspire and elevate the human experience. Little did we know that this would be just the beginning of an incredible journey of growth and collaboration with this remarkable community.
Fast forward to the present, we are delighted to share the exciting news that Buffalo Design has been given the opportunity to work on a transformative campus extension for the Ohkay Owingeh Community School. This extension includes a brand-new multipurpose building, thoughtfully designed exterior play areas, and an outdoor basketball court that will become a hub of recreation and community engagement.For our team, being able to work on multiple projects for the same client is always an incredibly rewarding experience. It is a testament to the trust and appreciation that the Ohkay Owingeh community has placed in our expertise and vision. We are humbled and honored to be part of their continued journey of growth and progress.The multipurpose building has been designed with a focus on versatility, accommodating a wide range of activities and gatherings that will enrich the school's curriculum and foster a sense of togetherness among students, teachers, and community members.The exterior play areas have been conceptualized as vibrant and dynamic spaces, where young minds can explore, play, and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. The design prioritizes connectivity with nature, providing students with opportunities to connect with the outdoors and embrace the wonders of the natural world.The outdoor basketball court stands as a symbol of unity and wellness, inviting students and community members alike to engage in physical activities that promote both physical health and a strong sense of community spirit.
As we progress with the Ohkay Owingeh Community School campus extension, we are keenly aware of the profound impact that this project will have on the lives of those it serves.
